Kalamazoo Home and Garden Calendar: Learn about invasive species
Kalamazoo Area Wild Ones program Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy Stewardship Specialist Nate Fuller will discuss Invasive Species: Threats to Biodiversity. The program will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday at the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 2208 Winchell. Wild Ones is a national not-for-profit organization that promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices, focusing on native plants. Holiday wreath workshop Create a wreath of mixed evergreens with guidance from expert designer, Sherri Snyder of Gull Lake Landscape Co., 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, 314 S. Park St. All materials provided, but it is recommended that participants bring shears or sharp pruners. Cost is $40 for KIA members, $45 for nonmembers. Register by Dec. 5. (No refunds after Dec. 1.)
