A Soldier Died Today

Tomorrow, July 4th. is the day we celebrate Americas independence.  It is our nations birthday, but since that time 235 years ago, we have called upon Americas sons and daughters to defend the freedoms we hold so dear and they have never let us down.  As we celebrate our collective birthday, remember those who have paid the ultimate price.

A very good friend sent me this poem today and I thought I would share it with you.  Happy Birthday!

He was getting old and paunchy And his hair was falling fast, And he sat around the Legion, Telling stories of the past.

Of a war that he once fought in And the deeds that he had done, In his exploits with his buddies; They were heroes, every one.

And tho sometimes to his neighbors His tales became a joke, All his buddies listened quietly For they knew where of he spoke.
