Selling a Home: What To Expect Emotionally

I put my house on the market last summer. It didn’t sell; not a big surprise in this economy. Nevertheless, it was a happy/sad occasion to get it listed.

Happy: I wanted to downsize to something that suited my needs better, since my daughters were starting to move away.

Happy: I was looking forward to not having a mortgage. Having been in real estate for the past five years, I had been struggling to keep up payments.

Sad: It didn’t feel good to be in that situation, but I felt I didn’t have a choice.

Sad: Several months worth of prep work to get it ready for showing were exhausting and emotional.

Log Home Irish Blessing

May your neighbors respect you, Troubles neglect you, Angels protect you, Heaven accept you And may your log home always be too small to hold all your friends.

Did you know that St Patricks day was started by the Irish as a feast day of Saint, Maewyn Succat.  You didnt know that?  Oh yeah, Maewyn had an interesting life that included being kidnapped by Irish marauders as a young boy, working as a slave to a Druid chieftain in Ireland and becoming a priest and eventually the patron Saint of Ireland.

Log Home Industry News

You know how the saying goes, In the spring a young mans fancy lightly turns to thoughts oflog cabins and fine homes made from heavy timbers.

Well, I know it goes something like that, but if the traffic to this website is any indication, young and not so young people are getting serious once again about building a log home.  We are seeing an increase in visitors that is 100% greater than it was just a few short months ago.

It is my opinion that most people are still disgusted with the state of the economy and the out-of-control antics of our representatives inside the Beltway.  However, I believe that many of us are just tired of keeping our plans on hold waiting for things to get better.  Its time to build something!

There has also been a lot of positive news happening in our industry of late and these two items hit my desk today, so I thought Id share it with you.
